Double product title on product page upon upgrade to 1.3

Q: I just now upgraded to 1.3 and I now have double instances of the “Product Title” on a product page. The double product titles were not an issue prior to upgrading to 1.3.

A: There are 2 possible solutions to this:

1) You need FTP access to your server to be able to see if there is a ‘jigoshop’ folder within your theme folder and whether there is a ‘single-product.php’ within that folder that will need to be updated.

Specifically, the following line needs to be removed; just cut it out and save the template:

 <h1 class="product_title page-title"><?php the_title(); ?></h1>

OR

2) Another means that would work without altering existing `single-product.php’ in a theme ‘s ‘jigoshop’ folder would be to add the following code to a theme’s ‘functions.php’:

function remove_jigoshop_duplicate_title() {
    remove_action( 'jigoshop_template_single_summary', 'jigoshop_template_single_title'  , 5, 2 );
}
add_action( 'init', 'remove_jigoshop_duplicate_title' );

NOTICE:
This method doesn’t function / can’t be used for Headway Themes.

Headway Connect has this in blocks/jigoshop.php on line number 66:

    echo '<h1 class="product_title page-title">' . get_the_title() . '</h1>';
    do_action( 'jigoshop_template_single_summary', $post, $_product );

The jigoshop_template_single_summary action adds the title as well, so echoing the title right above is it unnecessary and will cause a duplicate title.

Removing that whole line number 66 that contains the ‘echo’ fixes the issue.
