Mimal.es sells a range of pet related accessories for cats (gatos) and dogs (perros), including the sport of cross-country running with dogs, known as Canicross. Business owner Alex Sancho developed the site himself with WordPress and Jigoshop.
You don’t need to be fluent in Spanish to understand immediately what the site provides, with the big and colourful background and slider images. There’s a great choice of photography, with the furry models immediately making you want to get a similar look for your own pet.
The images and featured products also show that the products are for pets and working animals which are more adventurous than most – with pet life jackets and other interesting items.
Social links, business information etc is highlighted with some simple and stylish animal cartoons which fits perfectly for the target market for the store, and the blog section is regularly updated with plenty of content to engage customers.
The main shop page again uses great animal photography with some very contented cats and dogs, separating products into Cats, Dogs and Canicross to aid navigation. The Category list also allows you to select by product type, whether it’s accessories or vitamins you’re looking for.
Alex picked Jigoshop as his eCommerce solution because it can be extended and customised so easily, and he’s using a variety of Jigoshop extensions. In particular he picks out Premium Shipping as a must for any store.
In each category, you are able to browse by brand, included a handy option for ‘‘ which allows you to skip scrolling through with a handy drop-down listing all the products by name – great for repeat customers who know what they need straight away.
Each product, such as this Ruffwear Approach Pack, includes a wealth of information. Rather than push the purchase options down the page, the initial three line summary links to the Description tab, along with more information, a feedback form, and videos of the products.
Important fitting information is clearly provided for the wearable products, and the store delivery guarantee is included to encourage customer confidence. And one of the benefits of Jigoshop is how easy it is to display relevant related products either manually or automatically.
