Jigoshop Rich Snippets

Search engine rankings and traffic are important to any eCommerce store. But it’s not just about getting your site to rank highly in Google search results – it’s also about encouraging people to actually click on the link to visit your shop and buy from you. Luckily Jigoshop Rich Snippets can massively improve your click-through rates and increase your traffic and sales.

Rich Snippets are the pieces of information which display with your website address in search results. Since 2011, a common set of Schema tags has been agreed by the major search engines (Including Google, Bing, Yahoo! and Yandex), which allows you to display more specific information for different types of sites. And the Jigoshop Rich Snippets extension allows you to use these without any development work to your site, or learning lots of coding!

To keep it easy to use, we’ve selected the specific Schema tags which are appropriate for an eCommerce businesss; Product, Creative Work, Book, Movie, Software, or Event. And you can then add specific information based on the snippet type selected – e.g. selecting Author for a book.

The extension also gathers any review information for a product to allow search engines to display the number of reviews and star ratings for your products – great for showing search users the amount of happy customers who have already bought from you.

It’s not only a great way to stand out in search results, but is a proven way to increase the visits to your website.
