It would be great to be able to have different pricing for users, depending on if they are retail or wholesale users. ;)

User groups is a good idea and something we will think about in the future. But for now it's not near the top of our list.

Hi Jay, this is such a shame to hear. I've got a brief to integrate a Wordpress site with an eCommerce facility, and after a couple of hours research I downloaded and installed Jigoshop. It was 95% perfect for my brief, the only real issue was that I could not set up wholesale prices to certain groups of users.

Sadly I'm going to have to look elsewhere, since this is a pretty big stumbling block for my project.

Any chance of getting that feature sooner than "in the future"?

    Darren

    Hi Darren,

I'm afraid the only way to fast-track the development of features right now would be to hire us specifically to develop them.

I hope you understand that we're trying to prioritise new features in direct correlation to the volume of requests.

User groups is on our list, but closer to the middle than the top I'm afraid.

Sorry to hear this is going to be a stumbling block for you but I trust that you can understand our position :-)

    Hi Jay,

    Yes of course, I understand.

Out of interest, do you have a roadmap (or development timeline) of new features and when they'll be released? I still think yours is the best one I've found so far, and I've got 2 other projects coming up requiring WP ecommerce, so I'd like to keep a close eye on what the team is developing!

    Thanks,

    Darren

We don't at the moment. There's so much going on right now that it's virtually impossible to release any kind of schedule and keep to it.

I suppose we could add a "currently working on" page to the site.

Obviously we're actively talking about Jigoshop development on Twitter so it's worth following us.

  6. 7 Posted by mike on 28 Jun, 2011 02:07 PM

I'd like to see a page of that kind too, as I'm currently looking at working on a few things and I wouldn't want to end up stepping on your toes, releasing something you were planning on adding as an extension yourselves heh.

@takeovermedia: please send me an email james[at]jameskoster.co.uk with some details of what you're working on. We'd like to involve all Jigoshop developers on our internal p2.

I'd like to second a vote for this....although there is a duplicate thread just a few above this one asking for bascially the same thing. Another nice option would be volume pricing.

    Hi there...

Have there been any further discussions or developments with the potential of a wholesale module being added to JigoShop...?

Ideally, it would allow pricing to be shown to user depending on their login.
    (either wholesale or retail)

    Very very interested in this...
    Thanx...!!

    Hi there,
    VERY INTERSTED IN THE FUNCTION!
I have been following the developments here but am a bit confused on it's progress.

+1 for this feature. Keep up the great work guys!

  15. 16 Posted by goyevol on 06 Mar, 2012 01:28 PM

I am developing a site and want a retail and wholesale pricing as appropriate for customers.
    1. Would it be possible to install WordPress with Jigoshop in the root directory for retail customers and then do a separate install of wp & Jigoshop in a subdirectory named "wholesale" or what ever and then password protect the wholesale install?
    2. Can the two installs share the same database or would they need to have separate databases to preclude any conflicts?

  16. 17 Posted by vanessa on 13 Apr, 2012 02:03 PM

I second goyevol's question! Jigoshop is GREAT, and I am also very much looking forward to the wholesale feature!

@Goyevol and @Vanessa For the first question, absolutely.
For the second question yes you can do that on one database with one exception. When you run the installation of WordPress on the second one (the wholesale site), during the "5 minute install" use a table prefix other then the default wp_

I created a wholesale section on my shop by setting up HIDDEN products on SALE ("on sale" to wholesale prices) under another HIDDEN GROUPED product listing.

That way it shows up as an easy to order form and only users with the direct address link have access to it.

It doesn't protect against misuses of ordering wrong minimums, though as a small business, those issues are really easy to handle. It's not like we're getting in 50 orders a day.
But at the same time it creates a really easy way for our clients to (re)order with us while keeping their order history at-a-glance with their "my account" records.

I used the descriptions and additional information to reiterate our policies, though if they have access to the link, they already know what our policies are.

All in all, its pretty reasonable.

Looking into the Jigoshop Club offer and will be testing the store out for the first time this weekend - but Wholesale options are a must for our next project - any word on the development of this feature?

  22. 23 Posted by Joseph Rose on 30 Apr, 2012 05:13 PM

My business does retail and wholesale. I would like to allow my wholesale customers to use the standard web shop, but provide them with a coupon code that gives them wholesale pricing (50% off). I assume the shopping cart plug-in can do that (right?), BUT... the limitation is that wholesale orders must be at least $100.

Am I able to implement a code that offers 50% off and requires an order of at least $100?

I just use a dealer discount coupon for 50% that only the dealers know about. The problem I am running into is that you don't charge wholesale customers sales tax in our state in the US. Anyone have ideas on how to give the wholesale dealers the 50% coupon and not charge them tax?

Tossing in my vote for a well developed extension to suit Wholesale groups/users.
Have already made the commitment with a client's site to use Jigoshop - would love to not have to rebuild to suit their wholesale needs with a solution that offers both.
    Sooner the better!

  25. 26 Posted by Pixie on 29 Jun, 2012 04:38 AM

Any updates on this? Would be making dreams come true if there were a plugin to make this happen!

  26. 27 Posted by Pixie on 29 Jun, 2012 04:55 AM

That new extension "Catalog Deluxe" seems like it is steps away from what we need to set wholesale permission/prices to each product - depending on their user account... any chance something like this would be available in the next month?

Above you state that it would be possible to "hire us specifically to develop" something to this effect - who can we contact regarding this option please?

  27. 28 Posted by inspire on 02 Aug, 2012 03:00 PM

    Hello...
Please update us when you can...!!
We are all ready to purchase the plugin to create wholesale/retail pricing
    groups etc...
    Many thanx in advance...!

  28. 29 Posted by kram242 on 09 Aug, 2012 12:58 AM

I too would greatly appreciate the wholesale/retail pricing option. Thank you.

  29. 30 Posted by Stu on 11 Aug, 2012 08:41 AM

We give discounts to certain member groups and this is the only thing stopping us using the excellent jigoshop currently. It's not a fixed amount across the board, it's a second, cheaper price for a product only available if you're logged in as a member of that membership group.
