Stripe Plugin – Pending Orders

14 Sep, 2012 03:29 AM

It appears I’m having an issue with the stripe extension, after upgrading jigoshop. New orders are going to pending status, and therefore not generating any emails to the admin or the customer. Here is what Im seeing when placing a test oder myself:

I get confirmation of processed order via website
No email notification
Product purchased is not deleted from inventory
Product purchased remain in cart
I see no payment activity when checking online bank statement, or Stripe account.
If I change order status to “complete” or “processing” email notification are sent…still no financial activity

Jigoshop 1.3.3
Stripe 1.2
Note: Paypal and Google checkout are working fine as far as payment and notification. (I didn’t document inventory status)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, I didn’t see it at the first – you have already installed ver. 1.2.
I let extension author know about this, so we shall see what does he say…

In the meantime, can you post your system Info in here?

I just noticed this error message in the stripe logs:

    ◦ type: "invalid_request_error"
    ◦ message: "You must supply either a card or a customer id"

I tested it multiple times and keep getting the same message. And yes, I’m definitely putting in the card number.

    Any ideas?

Hi! I’m the developer of Stripe payment gateway plugin and I just tested this one with the same setup you have (WP 3.4.2, Jigoshop 1.3.3, Stripe 1.2) and everything worked just fine for me. Have you tried to disable all the other plugins and leaving just Jigoshop and Stripe enabled?

  7. 8 Posted by gworthey on 16 Sep, 2012 05:25 PM

Thanks iler. I tried with a different theme and it works fine. What theme did you use? Thanks again for chiming in.

I use the WordPress basic theme when testing to keep the variables as basic I can. Then I can see if there really is problem with my plugin or not.
So if you tried with a different theme and Stripe worked in that as I understood then there is something that interferes in the FreshShop theme. Because Stripe is heavily based on javascript the problem is most probably in the themes javascript functionality. You just need to find out what it is. Firebug for Firefox and Chrome developer tools are very good tools in finding these problems. Check the console for any errors when you are trying to pay with Stripe.

Thank, I’m getting the following error message. “You must supply either a card or a customer id”. Must be something wrong with the checkout form in the theme. I’ll see what I can find out.

Problem was with wp mailcheck plugin. Once I disabled that I was all set.

Hello, I just purchased the Stripe plugin and I’m having similar issues..
I have completed a sale on my website and I got the confirm the the order was made. but the money never goes into my strip dashboard and the order stays in pending mode?

  12. 13 Posted by nicksarr1 on 11 Jan, 2013 04:17 PM

@iler I understand themes can interfere with the plugin because of javascipt. I do a lot of webdesign things, but don’t know it all. Is there a fix I could do?

    Thanks for your help,
    Nick S.

  15. 16 Posted by nicksarr1 on 11 Jan, 2013 07:55 PM

I was hoping for a solution other than that. I test the plugins and its not that and i’ve paid for way to many theme (Suggested by Jigoshop) Is there no simple fix?

So I did a test to see if it was the theme causing the issue.. I changed the theme to the slandered Twenty Ten Theme by wordpress and I am still have the same issues. Making me think its not the theme, but the plugin.

Update: I deleted and reloaded the Plugin. Working fine now

I tested the Stripe plugin and the payment worked just fine. But I found another bug while testing it. With the latest Jigoshop version Stripe plugin does not empty the cart after successful payment. I’ve fixed this now and it should be available soon for download.

    Hi iler,

Has this fix been released yet? I experienced this issue today.

  22. 23 Posted by gworthey on 23 Apr, 2013 12:29 AM

Unfortunately the issue with pending orders has resurfaced. The last time it was caused by a plugin. This time, I have deactivated all plugins to test, and the behavior persists. I recently upgraded to jigoshop 1.6.3 and today 1.6.3, but can’t confirm this is the issue. Any help would be appreciated.

@gworthey I just tested this with the latest version of WordPress, Stripe and Jigoshop and had no problems. I have no idea what could be wrong in your system because I’ve never been able to reproduce this problem.
