Your latest update crashed my website.

I can’t logon and no visitors can access it.

This is ridiculous.

I need a solution immediately.

"I need a solution immediately." I already send you response… and for the
future: "Google is your friend!" As many other Companies suggest to their

The only thing ridiculous here is you didn’t attempt to Google or see if anyone else had the same problem. There’s, by my count 4 articles with solutions and counting.

I went to and searched for Jigoshop:

It is the latest version which has compatibility issues with the Pagelines theme. The last Jigoshop version that worked without issue was prior to the beginning of this thread. Can you provide a link to download that version/file please?

    Thank you

    Hey Chris,

Let me give it a try.

Hey Chris – I logged out and the problem still exists.

I attached some snapshots of what the site looks like with Jigoshop deactivated. You can go to to see what it looks like activated.

You’ll notice that the footer completely changes and the content background (to the left of the right sidebar) changes to white. The settings for the entire site have the same light grey background. You’ll also see that the shopping page side bar and footer are messed up (

Everything was working fine before the last update and it looks normal when I deactivate the Jigoshop plugin.

I contacted Pagelines about this and they said that themes take priority over plugins, so I needed to talk to Jigoshop about the problem.

Also, apologies that I was a little heated before. I’m not a tech guy and it took me a ton of time and a huge learning curve to get things right, only to have it wrecked with an update that I have no idea how to fix. Hope you can understand my discouragement.

By the way, you guys still have a User account if you want to logon to the dashboard and investigate the issue.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi there,
We found the issue (one of the team members accidentally committed the wrong development branch)
If you know how to use an FTP program, like Filezilla you can follow the instructions here:…

If not, you’ll need to wait till our update hits the servers

Hey Chris. Thanks for getting back to me. How long until your update hits the WordPress server? If its gonna be soon, I’ll just wait. Thanks.

Pardon for tagging along, but it seems to me that a more clearly define problem is in order and wonder that you can provide it?

Because … when I view your two images … I see a page under construction which indicates probably a 404 page, or permalink problem.

However … when I visit your site now it appears just exactly as your first ‘Jigoshop deactivated” image?

Is that not how you want it? Have you cleared your browser cache after the update?

    Hi Jeff,

No pardon needed. Glad to have you tagging along.

The "Page Under Construction" is actually content I added to the page when I was working on it. You can see it now by clicking here:

I clicked on the link you provided of my site, but I assure you that you are overlooking the description of what is wrong. I described the problem earlier in the thread. Please scroll up and review what I wrote, view the snap shots, and compare them to the current website. Look closely to the items I mention.

Looking forward to getting this resolved.

    Thank you for your help,

    Sorry, but no I haven’t.

It looks to be a problem with sidebars and theme content wrapping.

Your main site home page shows this structure, and there is a sidebar-wrap ‘div’ and a sidebar1 div … with all sidebar content contained within it including the ‘tertiary’ sidebar.

However, this is not happening on your Shop page … with the secondary, tertiary, and universal sidebar stuff all outside this sidebar1 container div. (and appearing at the bottom underneath the content)

The Shop pages, category and tag product listings, and the single product page … all require proper content wrapping in a theme to get it to match your Home page.…

Do you have anything within your theme to accommodate this?

(it doesn’t appear that you do)

Not a Pagelines expert, but do you have this plugin installed and activated?

    jwchameleoncorp's Avatar

    Hi Jeff,

I don’t really know. Pagelines is a drag & drop theme for us "technically
    challenged" webpage creators.

All I know is that when I updated Jigoshop, the format of the
footers/sidebars got screwed up. I know it’s a Jigoshop issue because if I
deactivate the plugin, all website formating returns to normal.

Question: is it worth trying to upload the Jigoshop 1.6.5 via Filezilla as
suggested in the forum thread, or have subsequent Jigoshop updates already
overwritten the information, making it pointless to do so?

    Thanks for your help,

o I went and followed the FTP instructions for version 1.6.5 as described
earlier in the thread. No luck. Still had the same issues.

My site was working fine before the update. Not sure what to do from here.

    And it is activated, yes?

We have several of these ‘connect’ type plugins for various theming frameworks, and while I’m not entirely sure what all it does, I would expect content wrapping as one of the main ingredients.

Yet, you don’t have content wrapping for Jigoshop on your site and that is why the shop pages look as they do.

I’ve just looked at the source code for that extension and certainly if provides content wrapping. It has this as a comment that should appear on your Shop page when viewing the source:

    <!– PageLines jigoshop before –>

In my link, at the top there is some green text that is a comment, <!-- Start >> HTML Body --> … and I should see the pagelines jigoshop comment in green somewhere in that page structure code.

    Yet I don’t?

I should also see a number of other containers:

    <section id="postloop" class="copy top-postloop postloop-bottom"><div class="copy-pad"><article class="page type-page hentry fpost"><div class="hentry-pad "><div class="entry_wrap fix"><div class="entry_content">

Not seeing them either and they are part of this extension for wrapping Jigoshop content.

If that extension is activated, then these things should be appearing.

    Hi Jeff,

Thanks for checking into this for me. I just looked and confirmed that
plugin extension for Pagelines IS activated.

Dunno if it would help, but I can give you a login to the website in a
private email to take a look at it.

    Thanks for your help,

Not sure that it would do much good, and regardless, I can’t access customer sites via the free community forums.

I have taken the code for wrappers in their plugin and used it on my site for my content wrappers and this is how the comments and container divs I mentioned should appear:

The header block in the plugin that I have states:

    Plugin Name: PageLines Jigoshop Integration
    Plugin URI:
    Author: PageLines
    Author URI:
    Description: JigoShop fixes….
    PageLines: true
    Version: 1.0

This is their plugin it seems, and certainly at the end of the day it is a theming issue. We have changed nothing in Jigoshop that effects content wrapping for almost 2 years. That article I linked to for theme content wrapping in our Knowledge Base has been in place for that long.

    You said:

I contacted Pagelines about this and they said that themes take priority over plugins, so I needed to talk to Jigoshop about the problem.

If themes take priority, and it is their extension that provides the content wrapping for their framework, then I’m a little unclear on what we’re supposed to do about it?

    jwchameleoncorp's Avatar

    Hi Jeff,

Sounds good and I can certainly contact Pagelines. However, the only thing
that makes me suspect that the error is with Jigoshop is the fact that the
website worked perfectly before the Jigoshop update. There was no problem
whatsoever until I updated the Jigoshop plugin. So if the problem truly is
with Pagelines, why would your update cause the problem?

If you have any thoughts regarding this question, please let me know. If I
am going to reach out to Pagelines, it would be best if I had as much
    information as possible.

    Thanks for your insight!

I know that your site does not have content wrapping on the shop pages even though this extension is apparently activated.

I know that we have done nothing in a Jigoshop update that should affect this. The changelog for both 1.7 and 1.7.1 are here:

I know that I have done enough due diligence on these free community forums to be clear that:

    1) themes require content wrapping to work with Jigoshop
    2) this is their extension that enables this
    3) ultimately it is up the themes to stay current with Jigoshop changes, not the other way around

And I know that to do more with this will require site access and I can only do that via Premium Support. Not too satisfactory I’m quite sure, but not sure what else I can say.

    Hey Jeff,

Thanks for all your insight so far. Instead of copying and pasting
everything and trying to translate it, I added Pagelines to the email
thread. Thought it was a more effective way to communicate the issues and
root out the problem since I am a novice.

Pagelines, can you please review the thread herein and give us some

    Thanks everyone for your help.

Just as a light of hope, I run Pagelines with Jigoshop and have just one minor issue that I have chosen to ignore it is so small for me. The button colors in a sidebar can be slightly off from PL pages to Jigo pages. I tried come bit of CSS to fix it and gave up after a while as it did get complicated with button classes mixing here and there.

The rest works just great. The Jigoshop support is great and the Pagelines guys know what they are doing as well. I would suggest the premium support from Pagelines. The attention you get when you need it is great. I rarely need to contact them though.
