Jigoshop Showcase #31 Scribble Linens

Posted in Jigoshop Showcase and tagged , on by .

We showcase Jigoshop-based websites for a variety of reasons. Often it’s to share eye-catching design, but sometimes it’s for the way a business uses content or marketing to great effect. This week we feature a site which combines good design, great content and an interesting product.

Jigoshop Showcase #31 ScribbleLinens.com

Scribble Linens is a great idea to make meals and events more enjoyable. The concept is simple with a collection of reversible placements, coasters, table runners and more which can be written on with chalk to share messages, create designs or to doodle on. It’s a great way to keep children and adults entertained.

ScribbleLinensHomepage

The Scribble Linens homepage features a nice clean design which puts the attention on the main slider, which is packed full of great examples of the product being used, with a catchy slogan for each image. The colours and font choices have an element of fun to them, which fits well with the product, and the tone of voice used by owner and entrepreneur Sara.

And that approach is consistent across all the areas of the site, and on Facebook and Twitter. Reading the About and My Story sections definitely gives you an insight into what led to Scribble Linens being launched.

Again the Collections page features useful images for those of us who aren’t sure what a Table Topper or Table Runner might be. It’s a simple way to ensure customers are heading towards the right product, and avoiding any confusion with something that might not be a regular purchase.

ScribbleLinensPlacemats

Each product benefits from multiple inspirational images which shows the range of uses – for instance, nameplaces, children’s distraction or holiday greetings, for example. Each product also comes in a range of colourful and funky fabrics which are displayed as clickable images.

The product summaries are succinct but all the required information is supplied further down the page, meaning that it doesn’t distract customers who are already looking to add to their shopping cart. But if you need more information before purchasing, it includes information on what is included, additional products, cleaning information, and useful links to the Ideas page. Being able to illustrate all the ways to use a new product definitely helps a new customer justify their purchase.

What really shines through is the character of the business, and the copy on each page has enough to be interesting and unique, but still has the clarity to convey the right information. It can be a really hard balancing act to pull off, but Scribble Linens does it well.

Jigoshop Showcase #30 Jungle Jumparoo

Posted in Jigoshop Showcase and tagged , , , on by .

One of the best things about showcasing real businesses using Jigoshop is seeing the wide range of stores it empowers to be effective online. Sometimes it’s about doing amazing things in areas such as food, or creating unique pieces of art.

This week stands out as the product is just a great idea, and it’s something that you’d remember if you saw it being pitched on the likes of Dragon’s Den.

Jigoshop Showcase #30 JungleJumparoo.com

Trampolining is popular way for a lot of children to spend a sunny afternoon in the garden. But it turns out that there are a significant number of injuries due to bouncing around, particularly head injuries. That’s where the Jungle Jumparoo comes in, as it combines a big and bouncy inner tube, with a metal frame inside to keep it secure and give children something to hold onto. Plus, it’s easy to get on and off. That’s a pretty big selling point for any parent that has had to clamber across a trampoline to rescue a child…

One of the great things when you initially visit the site is that the logo and images instantly convey the fun nature of the product, whilst still highlighting the health, safety and other important information with clear menu and footer links. The image slider uses transitions well to add some entertainment, and also includes a video which puts across the experience of using a Jungle Jumparoo better than text or static images.

JungleJumparooHomepage

The bottom of the screen on most resolutions allows you to see the handy links for FAQs, Ask The Experts and Buy Online, along with live sales/support chat and the social networking box which leads you into scrolling further down the page. Again, the key points are nicely highlighted, along with the option to sign up for the mailing list.

JungleJumparooProductpage

The product page again uses video to good effect, along with plenty of supporting images. And the potentially dull but necessary sizing information is quickly conveyed via a photo lightbox showing the component sizes. The same lightbox works well for the almost endless supporting images to scroll through.

The Product Description area is well laid out, with a further image and the details laid out into the relevant sub-headed sections, including relevant links for additional products, which are also well-described on the accessories page.

The repeated pricing information is also contained in a pretty comprehensive information box including options to live chat, email, or call toll free, and the price, shipping times and free shipping notice. So the majority of questions are answered as quickly and comprehensively as possible.

JungleJumparooAskTheExperts

With a small number of products, the emphasis has been on really optimising what is available. One additional page which demonstrates a nice use of video is the ‘Ask An Expert’ section which allows children to answer all the important questions you might have about the product. That’s a much more engaging way to demonstrate whether kids actually enjoy the Jungle Jumparoo, and it certainly seems like they’ve had good fun with it.

Essentially, Jungle Jumparoo shows what happens when you focus around the people that will be using your products, and the questions coming from the people most likely to be in charge of purchasing them. Parents will be the ones ultimately deciding whether to buy, based on whether they think their children will enjoy the product, so having grown-up answers on safety etc, and children engaging via video, covers both bases really well.

The question is whether we can find space for one in the office…

Jigoshop Showcase #28 – BargainBikerBrands

Posted in Jigoshop Showcase and tagged , , , , on by .

BargainBikerBrands is a new business offering motorcycle helmets, clothing and accessories. It was set up by a good friend of Jigowatt and Jigoshop, John Wakefield, who has worked in the motorcycle industry for decades, and aims to combine quality motorcycle products with the best possible prices.

Circumstances meant that John needed a logo and website with full eCommerce capabilities in a very fast time frame. So Jigoshop was the obvious choice to answer his business requirements, with branding design work provided by our parent design agency Jigowatt.

BargainBikerBrandsHomepage

As you can see, we came up with a clear and elegant logo for the company, which reinforces the name of the new brand, along with variations for the various social networks to market BargainBikerBrands products.

You’ve probably also noticed the length of the page, due to the massive range of motorcycle products carried by the store. With sections for Featured Products, Sale Products and Latest Products this is still just a sample of the full inventory, showing that Jigoshop can deal with large and varied stock levels.

Finally there’s the blog, which is the perfect showcase for the specialist knowledge of John and the BargainBikerBrands team. When you’ve got 20+ years experience in selling your products, sharing that in-depth knowledge is a massive sales advantage.

BargainBikerBrandsMotorcycleHelmets

This is just the first of 6 pages of motorcycle helmets currently available. Although many motorcyclists like to browse, you can also shop by Brand, Style, Price Filter Slider and search, so that you can find what you need as quickly as you like.

You also have selections of Featured Products, and the highest rated products by Users in the sidebar.

BargainBikerBrandsProductpage

The product pages include the eye-catching sales notifications, along with size/colour variations, and full detailed product descriptions. Plus Jigoshop’s Related Products function to encourage multiple purchases on each visit.

Getting the site live with this much inventory was the first challenge to be successfully overcome, and we’ve used a variety of Jigoshop extensions, including Table Rate Shipping, PDF Invoices and Packing Slips, Sales Flash Options, and Campaign Monitor integration to make it as simple as possible to manage the shop, allowing the team to focus on delivering great service.

We’ve also been working directly with the BargainBikerBrands team to take advantage of the great marketing opportunities available with Jigoshop, including improving Search Engine Optimisation. You can find out more about the additional services we offer in-house, via the Jigowatt site.

Jigoshop Showcase #25 Christophe Morel – Master Chocolatier

Posted in Jigoshop Showcase and tagged , , , on by .

This incredibly sumptuous and somewhat decadent website has been created to showcase the talent of award-winning master chocolatier Christophe Morel. With apologies to anyone currently starting the new year on a diet, we couldn’t wait to share this example our Jigoshop eCommerce platform being used to tempt any chocolate lover.

Jigoshop Showcase #25: morelchocolatier.com

Christophe Morel was born into a French family of pastry chefs, and has owned his own chocolaterie since 2005. He’s won a number of awards for his work, and the design of the site features stunningly elegant photography of his creations. In addition to the main carousel featured on the homepage, the three highlighted products are cleverly used to display a new product, a special offer, and products worth of the spotlight.

The homepage also carries simple and clear options for social media, newsletter signups, and being based in Montreal, Canada, options for the site to be displayed in both English and French.

It’s surprisingly difficult to study the site long enough to write about it without making a purchase. Interestingly the carousel is also used to introduce you to Christophe, with an excerpt from his About page to reinforce the quality and artistry of his products, which is something to be considered by other creative eCommerce businesses.

The category pages are laid out to allow the product photography to speak for itself, with a just the stylish ‘Sale!’ flash to inform your selection – products like these encourage browsing, although you can order the selection by both price and name if you wish.

Assuming you haven’t been able to tear yourself away, each product page features a selection of photographs displaying the product and packaging, which is obviously a key part of the experience. The short product description is expandable – allowing for important information such as allergy advice, but as a default, allowing for the image panel which gives one reason why each is product is loved.

Finally you’re offered the selection of Related Products, with another chance to see the trio selected for highlighting throughout the site.

This works well for each of the products, particularly as you become accustomed to the image panel and begin to look for it to see the eloquent descriptions.

Although we’ve concentrated on the Shop area to showcase the way Jigoshop has been used, it’s also worth noting that the theme and style of the site is apparent on every page.

The full screen gallery of the chocolate creation process is particularly clean and inviting, with just links to the shop to move you from inspiration to purchasing.

And even the 404 error page keeps you thinking of lovely melted chocolate (You might have guess we like themed 404 pages from our own)

What’s great is how all the elements of the design consistently evoke the sight and sensations of chocolate, whether it’s the finished products, or the melted raw ingredients.
